With capacities from 182GB up to 10TB for the MO technology and up to 31.5Tb when populated with the UDO technology and up to 31.5TB when populated with the UDO technology, the Orion Series represents the highest capacity and performance available from DISC.

High-Availability & Clustering Network Attach Storage

DISCSTOR/nas high-availability and clustering NAS combines the speed and performance of hard-disk drive with the long-term stability and portability of optical technology to provide a full-featured storage hierarchy solution.

Available hardware and software features create a fault-tolerant and self-backing storage system that appears on the network as a single storage device. Data is written to identical member systems, so that in the event of a failure, the surviving member node will seamlessly assume read and write duties without interruption of service.

Supporting storage capacities from 144 GB to 9.5 TB, DISCSTOR/nas can operate as a common pool of storage shared by multiple servers and clients using NFS, CIFS and AppleTalk file systems and protocols over TCP/IP networks.

Blu-Ray
Blu-ray is set to be the future high capacity archive technology with 25 or 50GB per medium and a clear roadmap to 100GB and 200GB media capacities. Media are single sided with single or multiple recording layers of 25GB capacity each.

WORM (BD-R) and Rewriteable (BG-Re) media are sector type with defect management and highly efficient error correction. Blu ray is 120 mm bare media type with hardcoated surface.

Blu-ray drives are read/write compatible with CD/DVD media. Technology standardization is supported by all mahor drive and media manufacturers as well as the UDF file system. Blu-ray read/write transfer rates are 9MB/s for the first generation with a roadmap to 18MB/s and 36MB/s.

Blu-ray discs are designed for high quality entertaintment as a worldwide standard of media for recording a variety of contents such as high-definition TV programs, computer and console games and interactive multimedia.

BD Series
The DISC BD Series capacity ranges from 1 TB to 35 TB and provides up to 14 parallel data streams of 9MB/s. WORM and rewritable media are supported, offline data management is maintained by intelligent pack technology.

DISC 1000
The mini Mega Archive
The DISC1000 is the latest member of the DISC Blue Laser product family. The smallest model in the DISC product program is an upgradeable optical "mini-library" based on Blue Laser drive and bare media technology.

The mini Mega Archive achieves with a small footprint the high capacity of 5TB.

The DISC 1000 is the perfect, attractively priced entry level library for reliable long term archiving.

PDD Series
